Michelle Barnard is Head of the Department in the Department of Design and Studio Art at the Central University of Technology, Free State (CUT). She holds master’s degrees in Photography and Higher Education Studies and is pursuing a PhD in Higher Education Studies at the University of the Free State. Her research focuses on developing a theoretically grounded framework for integrating artificial intelligence into university-level photography education. Her work includes teaching, curriculum development, creative practice, assessment, and pedagogical innovation in visual arts education.
